Some dining experiences transport you to another place altogether. When you’ll enter Arriba you will forget that you are in Delhi. This dimly lit Mexican diner and tequileria has a very quaint, tranquil and soothing atmosphere that’ll calm your senses and elevate your soul. The indoor seating area has a very earthy feel and wall art is inspired by the Mayan civilization. I would rate its décor a notch above Tabulabeach Café, which is situated next to it and which too has excellent interiors and outdoor seating area. Arriba is owned and managed by the same team including Chef Noah. While Tabulabeach Café transports you to Goa, Arriba transports you to Puerto Vallarta, the vibrant colonial beach town of Mexico.

Chef Noah is a true craftsman in the kitchen. Each and every dish that goes out his kitchen is a result of tremendous research work and experimentation. The food served here is not authentic Mexican but definitely shows the creativity and love which the Chef pours in his creations.

Their shimmering bar, which they call Tequileria churns out smashing Margaritas, Tequila Crafted Shots, Tequila Crafted Cocktails apart from the regular cocktails offered by most bars in Delhi. First cocktail that I tried was ‘Heaven on Earth’ that was crafted using tequila, blueberry, lavender, green tea, citrus, mint and goundra lemon. Its light, citrusy flavours had the perfect balance. The variety of Margaritas on the bar menu looked too tempting. I opted for the frozen version of ‘Fresh Watermelon Margarita’ and it was highly refreshing as the weather demands.

As far as the food is concerned this is by far the best Mexican food I’ve tasted in the capital. Be it Enchiladas, Guacamole or Mexican Street Skewers, all are top class. Habanero Smoked Pork Skewers were cooked to perfection. The pork was crisped from top and was soft and succulent from inside. Salsa Carnivale was a fun dish consisting of homemade tortilla chips with 5 varieties of Salsa, which is like a party of flavors in your mouth. The menu has a large variety of other Mexican delicacies which I didn’t get a chance to try this time.

The Churros were the best I have ever tasted. I have tried Churros in Singapore and Malaysia but have never come across this kind of crispy texture this one had. They are freshly prepared after you place the order and are served with dark chocolate sauce and chilli chocolate dips.

Their madness for Tequila also led them to infuse it into their various dishes. Places like these have a magnetic charm which pulls you back with great force. I am surely coming back here to try a few more delicacies from their vast menu. I must also not forget to mention that this is one of the most romantic diners in the city and you don’t need to think twice before bringing your date here.
