Penthouse N Block Market GK1 – Quiet Place to Chill

DSC_6165_00003_00003Pardon my ignorance, but before visiting Penthouse at N, Block Market GK1 I had never heard about this market. When I got an invite to review this place, I was little hesitant as I didn’t have any information about the existence of this market.

This market isn’t much talked about, as compared to the M block market of GK. Quiet yet upbeat, available parking space, great shopping stop and some good places to eat – I am thankful to Veta, for inviting me to Penthouse and introducing me to N Block Market.

Penthouse is a lounge situated on first floor and on the ground floor you can find café poute which is also owned by Penthouse owner- Sunny Bhatia. (We got the opportunity to meet him as well). They have excellent terrace and it will be lovely to dine outside in this weather.

DSC_6180_00018_00018The menu has good number of interesting cocktails. This place also has nice music, though I felt it was loud given that the space isn’t huge.

Let me start with drinks as the bar menu is very impressive. Though their wine menu isn’t extensive, yet they have nice wine from new age world like Cosecha Tarapaca Chardonnay 2012 (Chile), Vina Tarapaca Chardonnay 2011 (Chile) and Sula Sauvignon Blanc 2013 (India). Grass Hopper which is made of rum and Crème de Menthe, Fresh Kiwi and lemonade is nice and refreshing drink to start with. Basil vodka is another of my favourite drink that was quite refreshing.  Another of my favourite cocktail was Vodka with Rose, Pomegranate & Cranberry juice.

This place serves nice starters that complements well with the drinks. Grilled olive chicken, Amritsari fish, spicy chicken in three styles are highly recommended. Chicken stay done in Thai style and oven roasted prawns are another set of appetizers which I would highly recommended

While the appetizers are amazing, the main course failed to impress us. Thai curry chicken didn’t have any streak of Thai flavour. Chicken steak with potatoes and vegetables too weren’t good. Chicken steak was dry and had no flavour; grilled potatoes were under-cooked.

DSC_6185_00023_00023It’s a new entrant in the fast growing food market of Delhi and looking at their expertise, I am sure they will overcome these shortcomings soon!

#MFMFRecommends  – Grass Hopper, Basil vodka and India king are excellent cocktails and Grilled olive chicken, Amritsari fish , Spicy chicken in three style were my favourites
