Mathew’s Cafe, R. K.Puram , New Delhi

Whenever we talk about street food in delhi we discussion revolves around – Bhature – Poori – Chole – Tikki, all typical to North india. I haven’t read about Dosa- idli – vadas. South Indian delicacies are equally enjoyed by folks of north India and Dosa is more of a national food if you love the tangy taste of sambar and enjoy DosasuttapamsIdli
Trivia – In Southern India – It is called DOSHA and not DOSA
Mathew’s café – Situated at RK Puram sec 1 near tamil sangam bhawan and close to a petrol pump, the place can be easily located. One of the oldest south Indian place in this area offers quality south India food which is extremely economical. You will find it difficult to park your car as it is road side café with long tables laid out for you to stand and enjoy your meal.

Café opens early morning around 8 when they serve breakfast. During breakfast time unlike other places you can order dosa, rice, idli, vada anything from their menu.  I have tried vadas, idli, rice dosa almost everything.  My favourite dishs is Parantha with veg Korma. We ordered Parantha, dal vada, sambar vada , 2 glass of lassi – all for INR 140. Each of their item is hot and fresh. I also enjoy lemon rice and Curd rice. Being a roadside café you can’t expect them to be excellent, but definetly great to satiate your taste buds. This is one place which is economical, gives value for money and over the years the quality and taste hasn’t deteriorated.

If you love Dosa and other stuff and enjoy eating out at roadside café – this place is worth trying out for!
